As part of its oversight role and in continuation of its efforts to combat commercial fraud and counterfeit goods, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has seized the largest quantity of its kind of perfumes and women's handbags counterfeiting the trademarks of the world's most famous companies, ready for distribution to shops for sale. In a preemptive strike, the Ministry seized the quantity in a warehouse before the violator could distribute it to shops to sell it, deceive consumers and mislead them into believing it was genuine. The Emergency Team made an inventory of the seized items and impounded them, and legal action will be taken against the violator.
